On this page Department of Agroforestry Engineering aims to provide as much information as possible to the Master's Degree and Engineering for Rural Development and the doctoral program of the same name.
The Master's Degree in Engineering for Rural Development is taught from 2004-2005 course with the aim of providing rural professionals with adequate capacity for diagnosis of problems and knowledge to solve them, from applied research characteristic of Engineering field and consequently contribute to rural development.
We believe that this would give an answer to a growing demand for professionals and applied researchers, both from the particular area, and the administration and business. It aims to provide students with advanced scientific and technological training and quality aspects and skills that are applicable in rural areas.

In 2011 the Engineering Doctorate Programme for Rural Development has been awarded the Quality Label of the Ministry of Education and Science for the period 2011/2014. In this doctoral program is accessed directly from the Master himself.
The Department Agroforestry, which is attached both the Masters and a PhD, is formed by a group of 86 teachers develop their teaching and research in ten different areas of knowledge. Throughout its existence, the research activity has been steadily progressing, which has become one of the departments that captures more external resources through contracts and research projects at USC.
